Epworth Sleepiness Scale
The following Epworth Sleepiness Scale is designed to measure your propensity towards sleepiness. How likely are you to doze off or fall asleep in the following situations, in contrast to sitting and reading and just feeling tired? This refers to your recent/current way of life. Even if you haven’t done some of these things recently, try to work out how they would affect you.
Use the following scale to choose the most appropriate number for each situation:
0 - would never doze
1 - slight chance of dozing
2 - moderate chance of dozing
3 - high chance of dozing
What does your result suggest?
Regarded as being in the normal range, but if you think you have problems with your sleep and you score in this range, you should talk to your General Practitioner.
You are likely to have a sleep disorder, as most people without a documented sleepdisorder score less than this.
Indicates very significant sleepiness and you are therefore very likely to have a major sleep disorder such as significant Obstructive Sleep Apnoea.
